With the summer also the vacation time comes and with her the agony of choice: Where do we go on journey? We asked the travel experts along the Vienna Ring road for their insider tips and the holiday trends 2016.
Europe’s dream beaches
As Austrians, we are lucky enough to be able to travel quickly and easily to all countries in Europe. It is therefore no wonder that Spain, Italy and Croatia are always at the top of our list. Some people enjoy the sun on their tummy (and the cocktail in their hands), while the others like to get to know the country and the people. The best way to do this is for example 7CS Seven Seas (Schubertring 8).
According to Blaguss Touristik (Stubenring 4), the city of Jerez de la Frontera in the Spanish region of Andalusia near the Costa de la Luz is highly frequented this year. Here recreation seekers enjoy endless long sandy beaches, lush nature and pure relaxation.
The Greek islands are also popular, especially Crete, Rhodes and Kos. “You can also go island hopping by simply jumping from island to island and having the best of all,” says the team of the Greek National Tourist Board (Opernring 8).
Far, far away: There comes the travel fever
Long-distance trips are probably the best way to leave everyday life behind you. Depending on the season, the Far East, Thailand and Australia are high on the course of the travelling lovers, as the team from Reisebüro Kuoni (Kärntnerring 15) tells us. The United Arab Emirates are also becoming more and more popular: desert and oriental flair are now very common. And while some prefer to be more comfortable and prefer a package holiday, the others value individuality and adventure – all of them are well advised at Kuoni.
The trend is, incidentally, to shorter, but at the same time to several trips or even cruises, as us ÖAMTC Reisen (Schubertring 1-3) tells. Ruefa Reisen (Schottenring 28) also confirms: “Tailor-made holidays are in demand. People prefer to leave only for a few days, but more often and in several countries “.
Security and trust
The most important catchwords in the tourism year 2016 are, besides recreation, individuality and variety, also security and trust. Travel agencies are more than ever needed as competent partners for travel – fast information and best service are especially important as the Columbus Reisebüro (Universitätsring 8) tells us.
If you do not want to travel far away, you can also simply make holidays at home. With all kinds of activities and leisure activities, you will not be bored at home. How about a walk along the Vienna Ring Road and a picnic there? Or with a visit to the Vienna Film Festival, which in the summer attracts Viennese people and tourists at the Rathausplatz? Or a detour to the rainbow parade, which again promises a truly bright and colorful spectacle this Saturday …
We wish you a nice summer!
